Virtual Advent Blog Tour

Large Advent 1This is my first year participating in the Virtual Advent Blog Tour.  I’m not sure why I have stayed away until now; I guess I’ll chalk it up to my tendency to be a bit of a Scrooge.  I love Christmas, don’t get me wrong, but the whole “starting Christmas before it’s even Thanksgiving” annoys me.   I’m not so much into the whole getting presents thing. Hey, I love getting presents but there is so much to be enjoyed during the season.  Family.  Love.  Movies.  FOOD.  And music.

Because really, that’s when it all starts right?  Walking around Walmart, buying Halloween candy to the strains of Silent Night, Holy Night, marks the beginning of the season in these parts.   So, to celebrate the season, with one of my favorite parts of it, here are a few carols to get us started right.

One of the rockin-est versions of Carol of the Bells I’ve even heard and definitely my favorite.

And John Berry’s version of O Holy Night never fails to bring on the chills and goosebumps.

From one of my favorite holiday movies! I really prefer the her singing it with Will. That version with Leon Redbone grates my ears!
