Mid-Event Check In – April 2013 Readathon

So? How’s it going? It’s going great here! I even got the kiddos into it for while. Well, at least the boy. The girl sat and read for like 10 minutes. Which for her is great. She has a huge problem sitting still…..

Here is the mid-event meme and my answers!

1) How are you doing? Sleepy? Are your eyes tired?

I’m doing good! After the busy busyness of the first 4 hours hosting, I settled in and started with some short graphic novels. Then I listened to my audiobook for an hour while I mowed (tut tut, it looks like rain, ugh!). Then I read  longer graphic novel. Now I’m settling in with a novel.

Oh, and I also read a book with my boy.

2) What have you finished reading?

Bubbles & Gondola by Renaud Dilles
The Enchantment by Christian Durieux
The Story of Jonah by Alice Joyce Davidson
Relish: My Life in the Kitchen by Lucy Knisley

1 hour of The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, read by Nick Podehl while mowing

And starting Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell now.

IMG_28973) What is your favorite read so far?

All were good, but Relish was awesome.

4) What about your favorite snacks?

The guac and chips!

5) Have you found any new blogs through the readathon? If so, give them some love!

Not exactly. I’ve found lots I want to visit, and will soon! Too busy reading now! I’ve been in a slump for WEEKS, so I’m relishing (ha!) this sudden desire to consume all the words.

I will not update until tomorrow morning, so have fun, read all the words, and eat all the foods!

  4. Thanks for hosting this morning! You are making great progress and I know how hard it is to get out of a reading slump. Happy Reading!

  5. So glad to see you’ve been able to get some reading time in for yourself! Relish is waiting for me at the library, you just reminded me that I forgot to pick it up today. I can’t wait to read it!

  6. Everybody is reading Eleanor & Park today! I’m jealous! I loved Attachments so I’ll have to get my hands on a copy soon. Thanks for being such an awesome person and keeping Dewey going this year! You are so appreciated! Happy read-a-thon day!

  7. I’ve never heard of Relish until today, but I’ve seen it all over the place now. I’ll have to add it to my TBR. I really tried with my kids, but they didn’t get into it too much. Glad the boy did!

Thanks for all you’ve done to host this event. It’s been amazing.
