Look!

The hubby, wee girl and I went out tonight!  We had dinner (at PF Changs…soooo delicious!) then we hit the Used Book/Movie/Music store.  Hubby found season 6 part 1 of the Sopranos for $30 and I found the above.  Look at all the Viragos I found!!!  I am beside myself excited!  I got:

  • Phoenix Fled by Attia Hosain
  • Devoted Ladies by Molly Keane
  • Two Days in Aragon by Molly Keane
  • The Rising Tide by Molly Keane
  • Red Pottage by Mary Cholmondeley
  • Hester by Mrs. Oliphant (Which I almost didn’t get but in a rare moment of lucidity I knew I would regret it if I didn’t, so I did!)
  • The Loved and the Envied by Enid Bagnold
  • Tortoise by Candlelight by Nina Bawden

And I found a Norton Critical edition of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which I’ve been wanting to reread for some reason.  My books cost about the same as his Sopranos and the wee girls two books.  Ah, it feels so good to have a new-to-me pile of books!

Now, I must go finish one of the three I’m reading so I can start one of these!

  1. What fun! Looks like a terrific pile of books. :)

  2. drooooollllll I am so so so very jealous. I love the viragos. ;-)

  3. What a fun outing! I can't wait until we're organized enough and Miss Newborn is old enough that we can go out again as a family. Shouldn't be too long now–she is 4 weeks old tomorrow! But I guess you'll be in the same boat soon enough. September will be here before you know it. :)

  4. The books look great! And PF Chang's is my soon-to-be-hubby's and my favorite restaurant. The closest one to us is about 90 minutes away, but we make some excuse to make the drive at least once a month. I'm glad I have a fellow lover of that restaurant!

  5. Look at all those pretty books! I did a bit of shopping this weekend at the used bookstore too and need to blog about that :)

  6. Used bookstore triumphs are always so satisfying. Tortoise by Candlelight is a wonderful title for a book!

  7. Dang…I am so jealous. You are the second blogger that has recently shown a stack of Viragos! I wonder if I go to my favorite used bookstore, if I will find any! :( have fun reading those!! :)
