The Readathon Approacheth

Ah, Dewey. You left us so many things to remember you by and this is my absolute favorite one. I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Thank you, as always, for your giving and loving spirit.

Y’all! It is Read-A-THON time!!! Woot!

I hope to be going at it all day and I’m planning to rope the kids in as well. I gave my daughter my old Nook this week and it’s got a book on it for her too, with promises for more if she finishes it. I will be reporting, of course.

It looks like you're all set! I want you to read Wild – I'm trying to decide if I should buy it.

  2. Selfishly, I want you to read Boneshaker because I'm trying to figure out it **I** should. ;-)

I think you could do The Princess Academy with Ellie.
I've read Wild. It's a wee bit slow in parts. Not necessarily a bad slow, just slow.

I think I'll be reading some Catherynne Valente for the 'thon. Seems like a fun choice!

  5. Your list is so long! I'm definitely participating and I can't wait. I've got a graphic novel, play, and a few novels picked out.

It is, isn’t it? I expect I’ll touch every single one. I’m between books and have no idea what I want to read next!

  6. Wow, that's a lot of books. I need to get ready for Bitterblue, too… I need more hours in the day… If we both succeed in rereading them maybe we can do a post and chat about them?

As to your list, let's see… Among Others was really good. It is essentially a book about books. I really liked Blood Red Road and am looking forward to the sequel down the road. Oh, Castle Waiting. I want to own that… And I really need to read the sequel. Deathless looks good. I had it out from the library last year, but didn't get to it. I have read The Girl… and really enjoyed it, but not as much as others have. I really need to get to Red Glove. You know I LOVE Fables and can't wait until the new one in July. All three of those Shannon Hale books were good. I think Princess Academy would be fine for Ellie.

uh, him, I can keep going… Fallen was good, but I didn't LOVE it. Revolution was really good, though. I liked Boneshaker but have yet to read on in that series… Levithan was good and I have no idea why I haven't read the sequels yet. Bad reading me. And, Sabriel didn't blow me away, but I have been planning to reread it and move on to the sequels one of these days.

hm, did I talk too much? lol
