Monday, May 23: Who are you, and how do you Armchair?
You’ll probably be getting a lot of new visitors to your blog this week, so introduce yourself in a post! And if you specialize in a particular genre, share what it is and why you love it. Also, tell us how you’re doing Armchair BEA – where you are, what you’re excited about, what you hope will happen this week.
Me? You want to know about lil ole me? Well, thanks for asking!
Hi there. I’m Heather. And I’m a book nut. A bookaholic. Collector of stories. Lover of words. You know the type. You’re probably one yourself! I come to you today from my home is hot and humid North Carolina. Heavy on the hot and humid today. Whew!
I am totally indiscriminate in my reading choices. I do not choose genres; I choose books. Anything that sounds good is definitely something I want to read. Some favorite authors are: Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Jeff Smith, Angela Carter, Jane Austen, Wilkie Collins, Bill Willingham, Melissa Marr, Cassandra Clare, Holly Black, Salman Rushdie, Michael Chabon, and on and on. It’s not like you have all day. Favorite books? The Graveyard Book by Gaiman, Nation by Pratchett, The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Chabon, the Fables series by Willingham, all of Clare’s, Marr’s, and Black’s books, Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Rushdie, The Woman in White by Wilkie, and yet again, I could go on and on.
As I said, I’m doing my BEA from here, my home, in NC. See?
I got a new Mac this weekend. I am so in lurve with it, even if I don’t look exactly thrilled at the mo;.
What I hope will happen? A totally love-a-thon for books, of course!

Oh my gosh, I lurrrve my Mac too! It's tres fab.
Oh my gosh, you have a LOT of bookshelves! And a new iMac? Very, very cool. (Oh, and I agree that we need to get Andi on board for BEA in our "someday".)
I love all your bookshelves! Looking forward to your guest post on our blog this week, too. Enjoy your new Mac!
I'm not going to lie. Everything I was going to say flew out of my mind the minute I saw your bookshelves. I wonder if you have a book tour blog post. I would love to peek at them.
I'm so glad you're participating even though I wish we could out for drinks and book talk together in New York! I'll just imagine we are doing so. And yay Melissa Marr!
I would very much appreciate hot but really on the humid… california weather is being erratic lately…it cant make up its mind from either hot or cold, rain or shine, windy or 'oh my gosh where the hell is the wind' =)
and i regards to your pic: CHEER UP!!! your books are keeping you company, no rowdy crowd, no traffic, and you get to snack as much as you want or sleep anytime. PLUS you have lovely Mr Mac to keep you company ^_^
Im glad to have the chance to meet through Armchair BEA and I hope your enjoying it too. When you have the chance, i hope you come pay me a visit as well.

I LOVE your bookshelves Heather
You sold me with your author list … Neil Gaiman, Salman Rushdie and Wilkie Collins? We can be friends.
And I'm reading my first Cassandra Clare right now and am totally loving it! Adding your blog to my Reader …
You look hot! Those fancy Macs should have a built in fan or something! ;o)
Hey, look at you! I love those bookshelves behind you. Have a great week!
You look so cute! Watch out, though. You seem to have nearly as many books around you as I do. I fear the day they come alive. We are seriously outnumbered, should they become hungry for human blood.
You've got an eclectic list of favourite authors! Neil Gaiman's work is really creative, I quite enjoyed Neverwhere – haven't read The Graveyard Book yet. And I am a big Jane Austen fan!
