Saturday Farmer's Market

This is the first year I’ve tried to grow anything new after September and I am so surprised by how much is growing!  Look!

Collards!  Which look suspiciously like clover!  I have to thin them out soon. :(

And the spinach! She is a-growin’!

And, amazingly enough, I have more carrots coming up now than I did this spring!

What I am the happiest to see, however, is autumn!  It is finally in my yard!

*sigh* Beautiful.  This is my burning bush, which is getting so big and, well, burning red! I just love it.

Oh, I almost forgot.  I have more zombie roses!

  1. There's nothing better than fresh spinach from the garden. Yummy!

  2. OMG That burning bush is SO beautiful Heather!!!! Is that the name for it if you're looking for it in a nursery or does it have some other fancy name? I totally want to look for one of those. It's incredible!! Of course, your photography makes it look so amazing too! Your roses are fantastic too!

Oh I just love that you're doing a fall garden too :D It makes me happy that we can still chat gardening stuff over the next few months! And I love that we have some of the same stuff growing like carrots and spinach! Looks like you could be taking pics of my garden! I can totally relate to the sad face about thinning :( Isn't it so sad to have to pick out little seedlings that could become big plants :(

  3. We are putting the gardens in shape for winter this week. The outdoor farmers' market is over and the indoor one won't start for a couple of weeks. I'm so jealous of all of you who are still gardening.

  4. Your pictures are always so beautiful, Heather! I miss my little garden back home. There isn't much room in my new flat, but in the spring I just might have to try my luck with a few pots.

  5. Hi Heather. I love your garden photos! I often run out of gardening steam when my girls go back to school–it's such a busy time of year, but the one year I did plant a fall garden, it was incredibly rewarding. You're inspiring me to plan to do so next season!

I'm curious, in which gardening zone do you live?

  6. Woohoo! My banana peppers have gone crrrrazy in the cooler weather. I haven't tried anything else, but if I'm going to, I need to hop to it.
