and not in a good way.
It all started Friday , about 1:30. My MIL called to say Ellie had fallen at the playground and was in pain. She wasn't crying (at that moment) but was holding her arm and acting like it still hurt, which is unusual for her. She tends to pop right back up, even after the most horrible looking falls. This time, she had fallen off of the 5 inch high step she was SITTING ON. My daughter, no grace at all. Gets it honest too.
So, I came home from work. She cried a little, when she saw me, and was still holding her arm. She was VERY ill though, as she had not had her nap yet and she gets VERY cranky when she doesn't. So, I bring her home and knock her out. She fell asleep about 4. At 6, she woke up, crying and I noticed that her arm was swollen. So, off to the emergency room A and I go. To make a long story short, it looks suspicious. The doctor didn't think it was broken, but because 2 year old bones are still growing and changing she couldn't be sure if it was cracked or just where it was growing. SO, Monday, we get to go to an orthopedic specialist.
Yay.
Today, she doesn't seem to be in as much pain, thank God, but they did give us Tylenol with codine (sp???) in it. Just have to say, my kid on the good stuff is a FUN-NY sight. She was hilarious last night and this morning. No more for her though, makes her too hyper. I put her on Motrin.
Hopefully the weekend will get better. I started Joyce Carol Oates's Black Water, a short book and so far pretty good. Hope to finish it later.

Life with youngsters is never dull. I'm on the fifth day with a visit with four of my grandchildren, and three days ago, 10 year old Chloe sprained her ankle. I ice-bagged it, wrapped it in Ace, and she hopped and crawled around for a couple of days. Seems recovered now.
Blessings,
Shirley
Hope Ellie is okay. A friend's sister broke her leg when very young but didn't even realise till a few weeks after the event. Obviously not a serious break, but still.
I hope ellie gets to feeling better. Its so hard to take care of a young child who is hurt!
Awwww, I hope all is well, and she'll be feeling better soon. I can only imagine on the Codeine. Funnn stuff for all ages.
Thanks guys. I think she's okay. She was rolling around on it yesterday like nothing was wrong. Even with her splint and sling on she was trying to use it. I'm just hoping it's not really broken!!
I'm glad to hear Ellie's doing better. My little brother broke his arm twice before the age of 5. Of course, he's a wild one. One of the times was when he was at the kids playpen or something at a casino my mom and stepdad were at. I think it was in the plastic balls that you play in (for the life of me, I cannot think of what you call that thing right now). I have no idea how he managed to break his arm playing in plastic balls.
