Sunday Coveting
It’s that time again. Four books I’m excited about reading. Whenever I get around to it. Or whenever they actually come out!
The Dead-Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan and I have a long wait for this one. Spring 2010. At least I have time for a reread of The Forest of Hands and Teeth! My review will be up soon.
The Story Sisters by Alice Hoffman because DUDE. I LOVE ALICE HOFFMAN! Her Blackbird House remains my favorite short story collection. She’s just so darn good y’all. GOOD dang it. GOOD. And lucky me, I managed to win a copy of this on Twitter last week! Woot!
Need by Carrie Jones because I saw a review of WINGS by Aprilynne Pike (loved it, review forthcoming!) that compared the feeling the reading of WINGS to NEED. So now I need to read NEED. Stupid library doesn’t have it either. *pout*
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. I read Lament by Stiefvater last year and while it was good, it wasn’t stellar. The cover for this though is gorgeous and the description sounds good too. So I’ll give her another chance.
Here is the summary of Shiver:
For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf–her wolf–is a chilling presence she can’t seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.
Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It’s her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human–or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.
What books are you looking forward to this week?

I’m really excited because I won a copy of The Story Sisters on Twitter the other day!

The Story Sisters!!! I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I love me some Hoffman.

I too love Alice Hoffman, generally… but I just finished this book and am sad to say I really disliked it. Trying to think how to review it.

I almost bought The Forest of Hands and Teeth, but then I changed my mind (this weekend). Mistake?

YES you should have bought it! It is SO GOOD. Really really. Totally loved it. I hope to have my review up before I go to the beach or at least have it ready to post while I’m gone.
