Hour…uh…Eleven?

About 52 pages into Harriet the Spy.  It’s so delightful!  I can’t believe I never read this when I was a kid!

The best part?  It’s an older copy and the pages!  They smell like my CHILDHOOD.  Nostaglia much?  *sigh*

Back to it! :)

  1. Harriet the Spy is one of my all time favorite books of all time. I really really love it. Really. I discovered it at a thrift store as a kid and have reread it dozens of times since then. I'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying it. Don't you just love Ole Golly?

  2. I loved Harriet the Spy. I'm reading my much-battered but much-beloved copy of The Hobbit. I always used to read it when I was home sick from school Talk about nostalgia!'
Keep up the good work :)

  3. I absolutely love the smell of old books!

When I was going through a V. C. Andrews phase in 6th grade I was constantly wearing watermelon chap stick. I have flashbacks every time I smell fruit chapstick and old books. I love it!

    Good luck!

  4. I love books that have that smell! I wish my parents would give up my childhood books and give them to me.

My 4th grade teacher read that book out loud to us–I then read it myself many, many times as a child. Always was one of my favorites. There is a sequel to it, you know? I remember liking it too, but not as well as Harriet the first!

I never read Harriet the Spy when I was little either! I hated the movie, and my sister loved it, so I think that's why I boycotted the book. :)
