It’s Monday! What are you reading?

Y’all. I stayed up past MIDNIGHT last night reading devouring this book. I am really annoyed I have to be at work today. I’d rather be home reading. DANG having to work for a living. *sigh* I am almost halfway through it, AND, since I’m reading it on my phone, I’ll be reading in the bathroom off and on all day. lol

I JUST finished Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett in audio. It was a lovely thing to (re)read at this time of year. Just what I needed. I love Terry Pratchett, especially for this like this:

“She was already learning that if you ignore the rules people will, half the time, quietly rewrite them so that they don’t apply to you.”


“Million-to-one chances…crop up nine times out of ten.”

and also

The average human, on the other hand, thinks about all sorts of things around the clock, on all sorts of levels, with interruptions from dozens of biological calendars and timepieces. There’s thoughts about to be said, and private thoughts, and real thoughts, and thoughts about thoughts, and a whole gamut of subconscious thoughts. To a telepath the human head is a din. It is a railway terminus with all the Tannoys talking at once. It is a complete FM waveband- and some of those stations aren’t reputable, they’re outlawed pirates on forbidden seas who play late-night records with limbic lyrics.

Oh Terry, how I miss you.

I am on the lookout for another audiobook. Not sure what I’ll go with yet as I have a ton to listen to. In the meantime, I have a new podcast episode of LifeAfter to listen to!

  1. Not being able to put a book down is just the BEST feeling. I haven’t had that in a while — I was talking to Shannon of River City Reading about how neither of us really LOVED that many books we read in 2016, and a part of that for me is definitely that I had very few of those reading experience where the book grabs you and won’t let go. Hopefully 2017 will feature more of those.
