Nonfiction November – My Year in Nonfiction

I’ve been meaning to get to this all week!

Your Year in Nonfiction

Week One Discussion is hosted by Kim of Sophisticated Dorkiness (she’s also the Nonfiction Blogging Queen)

Take a look back at your year of nonfiction and reflect on the following questions –

What was your favorite nonfiction read of the year?

Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking! Smoke Gets in Your Eyes! Call the Midwife! French Milk! The Map Thief! Will Storr Vs. the Supernatural! Touching the Void! Princesses Behaving Badly!

Nonfiction books are like Lays. You can’t read just one because they are so damn delicious. I don’t think I can pick a favorite.

What nonfiction book have you recommended the most?

Quiet, without a doubt. I even nominated it for the campus read for 2015 at the college I work at.

What is one topic or type of nonfiction you haven’t read enough of yet?

All of it!

What are you hoping to get out of participating in Nonfiction November?

More information about all kinds of things. Right now I’m learning about poisons! Lucky everybody in my life!

  1. My roommate recently read Quiet and loved it! It’s been nagging at me since then that I should read it! I loved French Milk. Actually, I just love anything by Lucy Knisley. And I’ve been on hold for Smoke Gets in Your Eyes for so long now that I’m about to give up.

  2. I read Quiet this year as well and enjoyed it, but didn’t love it. I think I found too much in it to be similar to another book also read this year: Bright Sided by Barbara Ehrenreich. I think more time between them would have increased my enjoyment I think.

  3. About poisons! How fun! Are you full of fun facts now? I have a poison ring like the Borgias but of course have never had the opportunity to use it. I suppose I could put sugar in it and use it to flavor my coffee; only I take it black…
