I broke down

and joined Weight Watchers.  I know it’s only been 7 weeks since the baby was born.  But I just can not stand this extra weight on my body.  You see, I was always the skinny one in school.  Heck, I got down to 96 pounds when I ran track!  I didn’t gain as much with Wesley as I did with Ellie, thank goodness, but I have only lost about 20 pounds of it so far.  Ideally I would like to be 120 again, but my goal is 130. Plus I feel so much better when my weight is down.  I’m tired enough as it is without 25 extra pounds slowing me down!

I’ve only been on it 3 days.  So far it’s been kind of hard.  I’m used to eating what I want, when I want it, from being pregnant.  Obviously that is how I gained the 44 pounds!  I did much better today.  I even went for a walk!  Walked a whole mile, pushing the baby, who loved it by the way.  He is going to be an outdoorsy boy for sure!  In fact I brought him home and he took one of his longest naps yet; 4 1/2 hours!!  Now if he’d only do that at night!

Managed to read a little more of The Glass Books for the Dream Eaters during the nap.  It is such a delightfully strange book.  Really liking it so far.  Need to finish though so I can get back to Kristin LavransdatterDanielle started after me and finished before!  I’m so proud of her! ;)  Am also back to working on Estella’s Revenge – look for an exciting announcement in this coming issue!  I’m really excited about it!

  1. I need to do something weight-wise. I had lost about 15 pounds by just working and snacking and eating right during the week. Now I’ve slipped into eating whatever I want during the week AND splurging with B. on the weekends. Not good. Gained back about 3 of my 15. Urrrg. BAck to veggies and fish for me. Ice cream is strictly a weekend treat.

  2. The last book was so good, I didn't want to put it down!! It was easier for me to finish….I didn't have a baby in the interim!!! :) I can only imagine how having a newborn cuts into reading time! Once you get back into the story again, you will zip right through it. Good luck with Weight Watchers.

  3. I know people are getting sick of me talking about this, but I can't help it … it's been a lifesaver for me!

If you get tired of Weight Watchers, and want to eat what you want, check out Intuitive Eating. By waiting until your stomach is empty to eat, and stopping eating when you've had just enough to refuel, you can lose all the weight you need to! Click here to read my story of how I lost 25 lbs while still enjoying chocolate bars, ice cream, and pop! ;)

Yes, I'm a crazy woman… but, I don't believe in dieting any more. I know that intuitive eating works, so I'll plug it whenever I get the chance. Hope you're not sick of me. :-?

  4. 12 lbs is still great Andi! Maybe we can be each other's cheerleader!

Danielle I really hope I can get back into it. The baby has really slowed down my reading. I think once I get back to work and have an uninterrupted lunchbreak I'll be able to do some reading!

Thanks Jenn! So far I've been able to eat what I want with WW, just not as much, which is really what I needed to learn. I have a pretty good diet already; fruit, veggies and such, I just eat too much of it. And I have a passion for bread and pasta! But if it looks like WW isn't going to work I'll look into it. I already know that basically I need to exercise. That is how I got to my target weight after Ellie anyway. Walking is what helped me loose that last 20 lbs.

And I'd never get sick of you!

  5. OMG! I've been away from blogging for so long, you went and had your baby! Congratulations! He is adorable.

I'm doing WW, too. I started Flex in May but now I'm doing Core and I really love it. I've lost 19 lbs. so far. My daughter is 9 months so I definitely know what you mean about being ready to lose that extra weight.
