Time // 7:45 am

Place // Work!

Eating // Breakfast was one fried egg and two pieces of bacon. Lunch will be a thin bagel with peanut butter and honey, carrot sticks, and a peach. Yum!

Drinking // I had orange juice at breakfast, which was a lovely break from the water I drink All. The. Time.

Reading // The library was sweet enough to order the third book in the Strangers in Paradise (by Terry Moore) series for me! It totally made sense, since they have books 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6. Duh. So, I got that last week and almost devoured it this weekend. Will finish tonight I’m sure. I was reading Summer and Bird by Katherine Catmull, but it just wasn’t grabbing me. I wasn’t really motivated to pick it up. Really REALLY hope to pick up Joyland by Stephen King very VERY soon.

Watching // Not much. The hubby is away at training, so basically kid shows are the norm at the house this week. I hope to get back to Mad Men after he gets back.

Listening // The Crimson Petal and the White still. It’s getting JUICY. And various podcasts including Star Talk with Neil deGrasse Tyson, Classical Classroom with Dacia Clay, and Stuff You Missing in History Class (my very favorite).

Pondering // Which David Sedaris to start with, as Andi has told me I. MUST. READ. HIM. So, I have: Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Naked, and Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary. Opinions?

Blogging // Who knows? Work is killing me at the mo’. Unfortunately, memes such as this are the easiest things for me to do right now. But, hopefully reviews of Far, Far Away by Tom McNeal, Boxers by Gene Luen Yuan, and one about some reading thoughts I’ve been having are coming soon.

Promoting // The Estella Project is reading A Prayer for Owen Meany, starting July 2nd! Join us!

Loving // Everything and nothing.

Hating // Everything and nothing. I’m in a bad mood. I was rear-ended this morning. I’m fine, the car is fine, I’m just shaken up and wish I was home.

Anticipating // VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great week everyone!

  1. Oh no! Glad you’re okay. I was rear-ended (in my new car!) a couple of months ago. I was already frustrated and late to work, then that happened. But everyone and their cars were fine. It reeeeeally sucks, though!

  2. Your breakfast and lunch sound yummy. I should probably eat something as it’s after 11am and I haven’t yet 😉

Sedaris cracks me up. I don’t have a recommendation about where to begin, I’d probably just go in order of publication.

Sorry about the car accident, ugh. Glad you’re safe and sound!

  3. Oh I’m glad to hear the fender bender didn’t cause any injury or damage but I’ve had a couple of those and they do shake you up.

Love Sedaris. I would recommend Naked. So funny.

  4. I just bought Joyland tonight!!! And OMG!! Have you never read Sedaris?? Have I asked you that before and did I know this? LOL…Definitely start with either Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim or Me Talk Pretty One Day…in my opinion they are his two best closely followed by When You Are Engulfed in Flames. Needless to say, I really don’t think you can wrong with Sedaris :p The only thing of his I still haven’t read is Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk. I HAVE it, just haven’t read it yet…have no clue why not, lol.

  5. I read about The Crimson Petal on Andi’s blog and what she said about it… I’m not sure I’m interested in reading it, but I do want to read more about the premise. Adding what you’ve said I think I’ll just go read the blurb now rather than later. Glad you’re okay though hope the shaken feeling goes away soon.
