Readathon – Update 3

Halfway there! Eek! Here’s the halfway point meme:

1) How are you doing? Sleepy? Are your eyes tired?

Well…. now that you mention it…. *yawn*

2) What have you finished reading?

Graceling by Kristin Cashore and Fables: Volume 1 – Legends in Exile by Bill Willingham. 517 pages.
3) What is your favorite read so far?

Graceling, but just barely. LOVE that book, but, I mean, c’mon, it’s FABLES. If I manage to read all of them, that might change.

4) What about your favorite snacks?

Growing up, I loved to sit at my kitchen table with cheese doodles and Dr. Pepper. I don’t drink caffeine any more, so I can cheese balls (just as good, and crunchier!) and a Fanta Orange. *drool* Plus, hello! Nostalgia!

5) Have you found any new blogs through the readathon? If so, give them some love!

I hate to admit it, but I haven’t had a lot of time to go blog hopping. I’ve been reading! I will catch up with all of them tomorrow, for sure!

—–

So, I’ve read two books. I’m about to start Animal Farm, and then I’ll move on; either to Fire by Kristin Cashore or Railsea by China Mieville (since I started that days ago anyway). Then I’ll alternate with Fables titles until I hit the hay. I’m not really THAT sleepy yet, so if I keep my head up, I should be good to go for a few more hours. Just have to keep my head up. Good night my dears, I’ll report one last time in the morning!

Readathon 2012 – Update 2

UPDATE #1

Finished with Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I’ve read 389 pages so far. Off to a couple of graphic novels and/or short stories.

Mini Challenges!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

Sunny and beautiful North Carolina!

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

Well, it was Graceling, LOL. It was just as great as the first time I read it. Not sure about the rest yet. Maybe on to Fire.

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?

The bag of Chex Mix I bought. Yum!

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!

Um…I like to read?

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

I’m going to actually stay home. For, like, almost 24 hours. I’ve been out once and I AM DONE.

Back to reading!

Readathon 2012

Is it weird that I’ve had this weird “Cesar Flickerman” type voice in my head all morning, booming that it is “Dewey’s Read-a-Thon Today?” I don’t know what year readathon this is, so I can’t go it’s the 74th Annual Read-a-Thon!!!! *sigh* Wouldn’t it be something if people are doing this 60-some years from now?

I am such a nerd.

And, not for the first time, I’m wishing it started at 6:00 here instead of 8. I’m ready to go! What can I do with two hours? Huh? Huh? Bueller?

Forgive me, I’m a little weirder than usual this early in the morning.

Okay, so yeah, I’m ready to go this party started. I have my humogeous pile of books, I have snacks, I have music to play, I have no kids – for the time being, I’ll be reading with them later – the hubby is asleep for a few more hours…. Only thing I have to deal with is this whiny cat and the stupid dog who got out of his pen last night and ran in the stupid road and made my really really bad headache MUCH MUCH WORSE because I had to run my ass off to catch him.

*huff*

See, I told you I’m weirder in the morning.

Okay, so, I got an email from my service provider last night. Apparently MY SERVER is getting an update in the next 48 hours (how’s that for specific?), so it is entirely possible my blog will disappear for awhile. *grumble* WHY THIS WEEKEND? I know, right? At least I’ll have Twitter and Facebook.

I could have sworn I signed up to be a cheerleader, but, alas, I never got any emails about it, so I guess I didn’t. So I’ll be haphazardly cheering on my own. Watch out. Hopefully I’ll be fully awake soon.

At 8:00 (or so), I’ll be picking up Graceling by Kristin Cashore, as it is the only book I’ve been able to make stick the last few days. Isn’t that the best? Going into the Read-A-Thon with a slump hanging over your head? It may be a day of rereading. I shall, at least, see, and maybe you will too, if my blog behaves.

What are you reading today? What snacks are you eating? I need snack ideas.
