First, I got to work and received a call from my boss around 8. I got a 5% raise today!
Second, my dividend check came from some stock I inherited from my grandmother. Luckily, even though the market is so crazy, it was the same as last quarter, almost $700!
Thirdly, I won a book! Mel gave away The House at Riverton, which I’ve really been wanting to read. I’m so excited!!
What a great day, even if it did RAIN FOR ALL OF IT! Gah! Sorry I didn’t get to post a Friday Favorite; I actually had one all planned out. But my boss visited with HER boss (dum dum dummmm) and I was just too busy. Had to start earning my next raise 😉 Will definitely do one next week.
I admit it. I am totally unprepared for a post today. It’s been a wild and crazy week. It has been one of those weeks when nothing seemed to go quite right. Well, except for my reading! The Spiritualist will definitely rank in my top ten for the year. I just adored it. I’m readying Heart-Shaped Box now, by Joe Hill, and while it is quite good, I’m definitely not willing to read it at night. I’m steadily chugging through The Historian as well (it might be my mood, but it doesn’t seem quite as good the second time through) I don’t find that I want to read it at night either. So I am currently without a night book. I hope I can find one tonight. I have a copy of Megan Chance’s second book, An Inconvenient Wife, but I can’t find it and it’s driving me insane.
We won’t even mention all the review books I have to read.
Seriously, we won’t.
So, for this totally spontaneous Friday Favorite post, I’m going to share some of my favorite Etsy things. Because seriously, it’s hurting my pocketbook and I want to share the love.
1. I actually bought this. Isn’t it adorable. Oh my gosh, I can’t wait to get it. Here’s another one.
2. 2. I seriously lust after this journal by juliebowles. Those are my favorite colors! It just costs too much.
3. And I am definitely planning on getting a couple of Bookgirl’s lovely journals. I have one in mind for someone I know. And of course, one for me. I love journals too much.
I actually got the princess to grace me with a direct gaze into the lens. It’s a miracle!
I am almost finished with The Spiritualist by Megan Chance. It’s fantastic. Will review soon. It will be my 3rd read for RIP. I finished When Twilight Burns by Colleen Gleason last week, but since I’m going to review it for Estella, I’ll just say it was just as good as I was expecting and then some! Love me some Victorian Vampire Venators! And I got an acknowledgement, not by name, but as an Estella gal. And that’s why it’s all worth it. But anyway, get your hands on both of these books. They are perfect for this time of year!
*edit* Read through lunch and finished it. It was excellent! Now, what do I read next???
