This is some behind the scenes action on the set of Twilight. I’m still not so sure about this. I’ll probably go see it though.

Over at the MTV Movie Blog, they have been following the shooting and have lots of posts up about it, if you want more info. Interestingly, they have a post up today about how Robert Pattison (Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies and Edward in Twilight) is composing Bella’s Lullaby for the movie. If you recall, Edward wrote Bella a lullaby on piano. They don’t know if they will use it yet, but Hardwicke (the director) said if it was good, they would.

Playing Around!

I did get a few minutes this weekend to play with my new flash.  My house is so dark, it really helped to brighten things up a bit!  I guess that’s what you get for living in an 80 year old house!

Bizzy Bee

This is me this past week. Good Lord, don’t people realize I need to goof every once in awhile? You think my hubby and kids would know this!

It was very hard getting a picture of this little guy. He was quick! Hopefully a couple pictures of the little ones will be forthcoming later today.

Squeee!

I am so excited!  As you may have noticed, I love taking pictures.  Earlier this year I got a brand spankin’ new Nikon D40x now my ‘fourth’ baby (Ellie, Wesley and hubby beind the other three.  Wink.)  I have two fantastic lens.  And I’ve probably already taken over 1,000 pictures since I got it.

There was only one thing lacking.  I really wanted a speedlight, which is another flash that is separate from the camera.  Unfortunately for me, they are right expensive and I’d already used most of our extra money (i.e. the tax return) to get my camera.  But, lo and behold, when I checked my email Tuesday I had a blessing from Amazon.  Which are few and far between, but oh well.  Amazon is being “nice” and giving $50 is store credit to customers who bought an HD DVD player before the end of February.  Since we had bought two HD DVD players (one for us and one for my MIL for Christmas) we got $100.  Then Wednesday, my boss up and gave me a $25 gift certificate.  So I had $125 in credit!!  I begged the hubby and he agreed.  My speedlight will be here Tuesday and I am BEYOND excited!!!!

Of course, you know what that means for you guys, right?  Lots more baby pictures!!!  Woot!!

What a week!

I tell you what, nursing a sick hubby is not fun! Is not fun at all, I said!

My hubby has never been one to get sick. At least not very often. We have been together 12 years and I can only think of maybe 3 times he’s been sick. And even then he doesn’t complain, but goes on like it’s a normal day.

But give him one kidney stone the size of a grape and he is down for the count! Lord, but he has been a baby this week! He had his lithotripsy (Spelling? Anyone?) Monday and has been in absolute misery ever since. Although I can’t say I blame him. He’s been passing smaller stones all week and it sounds somewhat painful. 

So here you have my reason for lack of posting this week. I’ve been playing Florence Nightingale all week. Between him and the two kiddos I’m bushed!

I did managed to finish another book this week. I finished the last in the Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray; The Sweet Far Thing. Has anyone else read this yet? Because Oh My Gawd, I’d really like to talk to someone about it. I’m traumatized. Seriously. Bray has got some balls on her, I’m telling ya. More indepth review forthcoming. I plan to review all three in the trilogy together for the Once Upon a Time Challenge.

I am having trouble moving on to a new book. I’m not sure if I need to stay in the YA section for awhile longer. If you’ll recall, I was in a MAJOR reading slump. All my peeps here recommended reading YA to help me out, which it did. I flew through the over 2,000 pages of the Gemma Doyle trilogy in less than 2 weeks. But now I’m not sure where to go. I’d like to read some other things, but I’m afraid TSFT may have ruined it for me. It was one of those I can’t forget quickly. Dude, I even DREAMED about Kartik the other night.

Shhh…don’t tell the hubby.

Ah, well, I guess I’ll settle down to somethign soon. I am reading Transformations by Anne Sexton for the Year of Reading Dangerously challenge. I have never been a fan of poetry, so it’s slow going. At least the subject matter, fairy tales, are near and dear to my heart, so hopefully that will help me through.

And don’t be surprised if you see some changes around here this weekend.  I’ve grown bored with my template again.  You know how I am.

BAFAB Week!!!

BAFAB Week!

I have never participated before! I’m so excited because it’s always looked like so much fun.

Okay, just leave me a comment with your choice of book and on Sunday, I’ll use my highly technical and evolved number picking process (ask Ellie her favorite number…don’t worry, it changes every day) and that numbered comment will win!

The choices are of three books are from my favorite genre in the whole, big, wide, humongous world. Young Adult literature has some of the best written books you’ll find. And if you haven’t, you really need to give it a try. YA has changed a LOT since I was a teen, which wasn’t THAT long ago.

One of my big, tippy top, favorites from the past few years was…surprise! Twilight by Stephenie Meyer! Betcha didn’t know that, huh? LOL

Another fave, and one I just found to be a delightful reread, is A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. This first in a fantastic trilogy packs a great, Victorian/Gothic/magical/ghostly punch.

Lastly, probably my most favorite YA book is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I read it a couple years ago and absolutely fell in love with Zusak’s writing. If you haven’t read this one, you are quite possibly missing a rare treat. It’s definitely one of those you wish you could read again for the first time.

So there you have it my lovelies…which book will you choose?
