The James Lipton meme

Trish tagged me for this fun meme!

What is your favorite word?  luscious.

What is your least favorite word? scrumptious.  I know it’s supposed to mean something tastes good, but just hearing it makes me just irritable!

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? my children.  Everything I do, is for them.

What turns you off? people who abuse children.  They should be strung up my their toenails and publicly flogged.  Then slowly tortured until they beg for mercy then thrown in a dungeon for the rest of their lives.  Killing is too good for them.

What is your favorite curse word? I hate to say it, but it’s fuck. It’s the most versatile word in the world.

What sound or noise do you love? my children laughing.  There is nothing sweeter.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? photographer.  Obviously.  😉

What profession would you not like to do? teacher.  I have nothing but respect for people who teach.

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?  Welcome! Everyone is waiting to see you! And yes, there is a library with every book ever written.

I’m not going to tag anyone, but jump on it if you want too!

Happy Anniversary to Meeeeee!

My 3 year blog anniversary, incredibly, is coming up on February 10th.  Coupled with that being Wesley’s 5 month birthday, I’m feeling like giving away something.  I love the way Tanabata is doing her giveaway, so I’m going to take a page from her book.  No pun intended.

This should be a pretty easy one for you.  A huge clue is in the text, plus it is one of my favorite books.   So guess correctly, and you’ll be entered to win!

Anyway, so what do you win?  I’m going to give away an Amazon gift certificate for $20!

I’m going to temporarily moderate my blog, so if you don’t see your post, you’ll know you got the answer right.  I’ll leave this open until Valentine’s Day, then pick a winner.

Good luck!

Go ahead…make my day

youmakemyday.jpgIliana was sweet enough to give me this award yesterday and now I get to pass it on to 10 more bloggers. There are so many blogs that make my day, but there are a few I make sure to check at least once a day.

So here it is; Ten of the Blogs that Make My Day…

Andi – Andi is my book-twin, my reading soulmate, my bestest internet friend.  We share SO much in common; our reading tastes, that ridiculous foodie streak, our love of fairy tales….  She introduced me to Anthony Bourdain, Fables, and more, and we have so much fun working on Estella’s Revenge together.   Thank God she’s in NC now, cause now we even share books!

Amanda – My other book twin.  Thanks to her I tried, and loved, Angela Carter.  She’s kick ass and I just love her to pieces.

Bookfool – How can you not smile when you visit the Bookfool’s blog?  Great pictures, great humor, the love of books and reading and family…I always get a lift from visiting her.

Iliana – I have to give it back, right?  Iliana’s blog was one of the very first book blogs I ever visited.  It was all over then; my blog had to be a book blog too.

Les in NE – Ah, I just adore Lesley.  She reads. She cooks.  She takes great photographs. She writes some of the best book reviews.  It always makes my day when she posts.

Danielle – How can you not grin at Danielle’s endless supply of bookish posts?  And all her many, many, many booklists?  I think she actually WAS the first book blog I visited and i think I’ve been back everyday since.

Carl – Carl, Carl, Carl.  One of the first bloggers to have a reading challenge before it exploded across the internet.  He was cool before it was cool!  I just love reading his many posts on books, art, and, of course, the yearly RIP challenge.

Tanabata – Such great pictures!  I love her book reviews.  I love all the pictures from Japan, of her cats, and the food!  My goodness!  The food!!

Kalyn’s Kitchen – One of my favorite foodie blogs.  She cooks by the South Beach diet, which I don’t do, but her recipes look so yummy and I know they are healthy.  I’ve tried many of her recipes and she hasn’t failed me yet!  She’s really helped my family eat more veggies.

Simply Recipes – Another favorite foodie blog.   Elise has fantastic recipes and takes some of the best food pictures.  Mouthwathering!
